I’m coming off another Gold Box review, so it’s easy for me to segue into these Nike Dunk SB Low Skate Or Die.
The color scheme, embroidery and insole art are based off the classic video game. These released in 2008 and appear to have become an instant classic!
It is wise to make this shoe the focal point of an outfit rather than try and wear anything else with neon on it or a funny pattern. In this case, I’m opting for a blackout-style monochromatic outfit. I have this black-on-black Supreme top layered over a white tee and some black jeans. This should put the attention entirely on the sneakers without making the rest of the clothing scheme look clownish.
I don’t go in for multicolored shoes that much anymore, but these are such a classic shoe that I have to have them in the collection! Maybe it’s the NES throwback, but there hasn’t been another “wacky colored” shoe that pulls it off quite as nicely these do!
How Are The Materials?
The materials are great on these. The blue parts of the shoe, eyelets and upper rear are a nice quality suede and the rest is smooth leather. These feature designs from the game box stitched onto the shoe. These may not be designated as a premium release, but they certainly have a relatively premium build and material selection.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Dunk SB Low Skate Or Die fit true to size and are comfortable. Once we get into blue box and later, the shoes become too stiff to pull that off. The shape is still the older shape on these which is also a good look.
